Why must we quantify and qualify faith… to what purpose… to what end?

Recently, a close friend and I have been discussing faith.

What is the point of life. Of us being born, suffering, going through trials, having struggles, and being here on this Earth?

Why must we toil, work, find purpose, and meaning in it all?

Why must we wonder, feel lost, alone, isolated most of the time, if not all the time…what is the reason, what is the point?

The reason we have begun asking these questions as an aging population and realizing the sum of our accomplishments, (or a lack-thereof), take stock of our lives, and if it matters at all to us, to others, to our world?

I get this is quite all very philosophical right now… but bear with me.

Think about it….

What does having a faith, having a belief system, having a life philosophy really do for you in your life, and how it changes or maintains your perspective on life… how you live, how you treat others, and how you treat yourself?

Most people are born into a family that either you are automatically supposed to follow their subscribed religion, or families who do not think about faith at all and just live, with no organized form of religion at all (in other words an agnostic
